Have you ever thought that Superhot would be really cool with a top-down camera? Heads Will Pop is gameplay-wise pretty much that and it certainly works great.

The rules are simple, you move and everything else does as well, you stop and the world stops with you. You can also rewind time if you get to a situation where you can’t win. There’s timer in each mission, but it’s never too difficult, and it only moves when time does, so you can stand still as long as you need and plan everything perfectly. Or you can rush forward and plan as you go, both are valid ways to play.

You don’t need internet connection to play and there are dozens of levels, including special target levels, although the standard levels will get repetitive after a while, but at least you can try approaches you haven’t thought of before. There are four kinds of weapons, a pistol, an SMG, a shotgun and a knife, each works a bit differently to keep the gameplay fresh.

To be able to track one of the special targets, you need to be at a certain level and have enough gems, which you get in a safe after every few levels, so that isn’t a problem. Failing target levels means you have to pay to track the target again, unlike standard levels where you just restart.
